The start of something new...

HELLO EVERYONE,
Here's a little update on me....
After leaving Sicily for my college internship, I got a job in Brunswick, Maine working for the Navy's single-sailor program. The week before I started in Oct 2006, Joe and I got engaged during a trip over to Italy to see him for a month. My job was awesome and I got to travel all over the Northeast and do endless amounts of outdoor recreation (for free!) I traveled all over the state, took multiple trips to Boston, visited my sister in Northern Maine a bunch, worked the Navy's famous Fleet Week in New York City, hiked Maine's Mt. Katahdin, 5 times, snowboarded all winter long, and basically got paid to have FUN with some really cool people!

Joe left Sicily in June 2007 and got stationed in Panama City Beach, FL to start a new career in the Navy by going through Deep Sea Diver School. A few months into his school, we both decided it was silly to still be over a thousand miles away from each other, so I left my job and moved to Florida to live with him for a few months. I arrived in Florida in October and started looking for a job in tourism, which I thought was going to be easy. The only thing I could find, was driving school buses for the school district. They paid me to get my CDL, so I went ahead and drove buses for 5 months. It actually turned out being a great learning experience and has opened up options up for working with kids in the future. He graduated from Dive School in March and they re-stationed us in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, where he will work as the Dive Medical Technician for the Navy's SEAL teams. Oh darn, huh?

We left Florida to drive to Arizona for our wedding, which was in his hometown of Tucson, on March 22, 2008. It was absolutely beautiful, memorable, and so much fun. After that, we flew to St. Louis (my hometown) for another wedding reception. Immediately after both wedding celebrations, Joe headed to Hawaii to begin working and I stayed in St. Louis to help my parents through prom season at the tuxedo shop. It was so awesome for each of us to see our friends and families before moving to Hawaii for a few years. I flew to Hawaii on April 30th, and we have already moved into our new home on the island of Oahu. Now its time to start looking for a job, decorate our home, and start our 3-year honeymoon in paradise. SO HERE WE GO.....ENJOY!
