Last SCUBA class and a normal week

Sun. May 21 - We had a BBQ at Take 5 this afternoon and I cooked all day since the guy that works with me is a vegetarian and won't touch meat. It was fun to cook for all the guys. Not too many people showed up, but I knew most of the ones that did. I played sand volleyball with 3 of my Public Works buddies, but the sand was scolding hot. It was so funny. We'd run on the court as soon as the ball was about to be served and ran off it as soon as someone scored. After the BBQ, we cleaned up and I had to work the rest of the day and night at Take 5. I got off around 11:30pm. I really hate working weekends, I worked 24 hours total this weekend here.

Mon. May 22 - I was off work at Take 5, so I went over to ITT to help out. Most of my time was spent in Gear-N-Go helping clean up the camping gear from previous weeks. I cleaned tents and put them all away. I also did some work with filling the SCUBA tanks for paintball. Leslie started helping me get ready for my Citta Del Mare trip that I would be escorting on Friday. After work, I invited Juli to come to a small BBQ that I was gonna cook. Joe and I brought her to the commissary because she still hadn't bought groceries and we got the food for the cookout tonight. It was real small, but I was so in the mood for some steak and mac-n-cheese. Our friend Erika and her boyfriend Ray came up and hung out for awhile.

Tues. May 23 - Today was the last day of confined diving in the swimming pool on NAS II. We had our final tests in the water and then also took a 75 question written test. I had read and retained everything from the past 2 1/2 weeks so I flew through the test. I felt really good after my dive. Everything went great and I definitely got a 100% on the test. I even got the hard question that no one ever gets right about the pressure groups and underwater times. Right after my test, I had to get to work at Take 5 for the rest of the night. I am now just 3 open water dives closer to my certification! WOOHOO!!

Hey. I just wanted to say I love your blog. I have been reading it for a little bit. My husband and I are moving to Sigonella next week. We get there on 6/26. I have searched all over for websites on Sigonella and what it's like there. You seem to have an awesome internship. Reading your blog has made me really excited to come over there. At first I was a little worried because we are a young married couple (25 & 26) with no kids and I wasn't sure what it would be like over there. Everyone I talked to had kids and stayed busy with them. I was starting to think there was nothing to do for the younger crowd. Any trips you would recommend taking?
